OUR ETHICS & SAFEGUARDING POLICIES

At WERD, we are dedicated to fulfilling our mission while prioritizing the protection of our beneficiaries, partners, staff, and the broader community from all forms of harm, exclusion, and discrimination.

WERD also aims to be responsible stewards of the financial and material resources entrusted to us by our donors and partners.

To support this commitment, WERD has adopted comprehensive organizational policies, informed by internal risk assessments, international best practices, and extensive experience collaborating with diverse communities and partners across South Sudan. 

These policies reflect our dedication to ethical practices, transparency, and inclusivity in all aspects of our work.

WERD Child Protection Policy This Child Protection Policy defines the safeguarding conduct to be followed by all WERD Employees and Related Personnel to protect all children from exploitation and abuse by WERD Employees and Related Personnel. WERD PSEA Policy This policy defines the safeguarding conduct to be followed by all WERD Employees and Related Personnel to protect anyone from sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse by WERD Employees and Related Personnel. WERD Gender Equality Policy This policy represents WERD’s commitment to take a cohesive and coordinated approach to gender equality. The policy defines WERD’s explicit intention to support gender equality WERD Data Protection Policy WERD believes that Data and Information should be at the service of every citizen, and that our use of such data shall not violate human identity, human rights, privacy or individual or public liberties. Ensuring data protection is the foundation of trustworthy relationships and WERD’s reputation as a credible and responsible organization. WERD Anti-Corruption Policy WERD maintains zero tolerance for fraud and corruption in the course of its activities or operations. WERD recognizes the adverse effect that such practices have on its activities and operations, and is committed to preventing them and taking robust action where they are found to occur. This document sets out WERD’S policy and procedures relating to fraud and corruption. WERD Procurement Policy To enable us deliver its mandate of empowering the community, WERD must procure quality goods, works, and services at the most competitive price, ensuring value for money in a manner that is efficient, effective, transparent, accountable and consistent with best business practices. This policy articulates the guiding principles, roles, authority levels, and main procedures to be used in procurement processes at WERD WERD Whistle-Blowing Policy In order for stakeholders of WERD to have confidence in our honesty and integrity, this policy aims to provide a supportive process that encourages and enables employees or workers to raise concerns about misconduct within WERD without repercussion and will give them confidence that their concerns will be properly investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
